The political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections gained fresh momentum in Ogun State as members of the Aare Chemex Progressives Movement, in Odogbolu Local Government Area, declared their support for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
The declaration was made at Egbe, Odogbolu Local Government Area, during a gathering of members and supporters of the movement, who pledged to mobilise grassroots support for the party and its candidates ahead of the elections.
BoldNEWS Africa was at the gathering.

Addressing the members, the Chairman of the Odogbolu Local Government Area APC, Hon. Akogun Muyiwa, described the movement’s commitment as a boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.
He said the renewed commitment would strengthen confidence among party members, while urging them to sustain mobilisation, organisation and dedication across the local government.
Akogun also announced financial support for the movement, drawing appreciation from members. He assured them that the party would continue to pursue programmes and initiatives aimed at delivering what he described as the dividends of democracy to communities across the local government.
He urged members to remain united, organised and committed as political activities gather pace ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on the significance of the movement, its Chairman, Hon. Aare Ogudu Rasheed Ganiyu, said the organisation had become increasingly important as members had been exposed to what he described as tangible examples of leadership, development and the benefits of organised political participation.
He said the movement would continue to provide a platform for members to engage political leaders, understand government programmes and participate actively in political and community development.
The Acting Director-General of the movement, Ojali Emeka, said the organisation would leave no stone unturned in connecting the people with what he described as trustworthy leadership.
He said the APC had, in the movement’s assessment, demonstrated its commitment to providing leadership for the next administration.
Emeka also urged members to remain committed to the electoral process and ensure they had their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and other necessary electoral documents ahead of the elections.
The Acting Women Leader, Mrs. Ogunse Fashade, expressed confidence in the leadership of Aare Chemex, describing members’ trust in him as rooted in what she called his sincerity of political purpose and commitment to the movement.
Beyond political mobilisation, members used the gathering to voice concerns and outline expectations for their communities.
One of the contributors, Mrs. Salefat Sansudeen, called for greater youth inclusion, noting what she described as the low participation of young people in the movement.
She urged the leadership to develop strategies capable of attracting more youths and giving them a stronger role in the organisation.
Members also called for improved healthcare facilities, a police outpost and a functional market in the area.
They said residents had for too long depended on Ijebu-Ode for some essential services, describing the situation as an additional burden on the community.
The Egbe gathering formed part of the growing grassroots political activities across Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.
For the Aare Chemex Progressives Movement, the gathering was more than a political meeting. It provided a platform for members to publicly declare their support, articulate their expectations for development and reaffirm their commitment to participating in the electoral process.
