OJUDE OBA UNVEILS 2026 COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION LOGO

The organisers of the globally celebrated Ojude Oba Festival have officially unveiled the 2026 Ojude Oba Commemorative Medallion Logo, describing it as a symbol of heritage, unity, royalty, and the enduring cultural pride of the Ijebu people.
The unveiling ceremony, attended by members of the Central Working Committee, traditional rulers, sponsors, members of the media, and prominent sons and daughters of Ijebuland, marked another milestone in the evolution of the annual cultural festival.
Speaking at the event, representatives of the Communication, Music and Sound Sub-Committee explained that the commemorative medallion was specially designed for the 2026 edition of the festival and would not replace the permanent official logo of Ojude Oba.
According to the committee, the initiative introduces a new tradition whereby each edition of the festival will have its own symbolic annual medallion, reflecting the unique spirit and identity of that year’s celebration.
The committee noted that the 2026 medallion captures the majesty of the Awujale institution, the pride and unity of the Regberegbe groups, the vibrancy of Ijebu culture, and the glamour and prestige that have made Ojude Oba one of Nigeria’s most recognised cultural festivals.
Particular attention was given to the iconic equestrian horse riders featured in the design, described as symbols of courage, honour, royalty, and the warrior heritage of the Ijebu people.
“The horse riders remain one of the strongest visual identities of Ojude Oba before the world,” the committee stated, adding that the medallion represents more than branding; it also serves as cultural documentation and history preserved in visual form.
With the approval of the Central Working Committee, the commemorative emblem will now form part of the official identity materials for the 2026 festival. It will appear across media campaigns, digital platforms, souvenirs, official merchandise, event branding, sponsor materials, and archival records connected to the celebration.
Organisers further stated that the approved medallion would serve as the authentic visual mark for recognised participation and sponsorship for Ojude Oba 2026.
They explained that the initiative was designed to strengthen the festival’s global image, ensure brand consistency, protect the authenticity of sponsorship participation, and reinforce the institutional prestige of Ojude Oba.
The committee expressed optimism that the innovation would further promote cultural preservation, tourism development, and the creation of a collectible historical tradition for future generations.
The organisers also commended the Central Working Committee for supporting innovative ideas aimed at elevating the global status of the festival.
The ceremony concluded with the official presentation of the 2026 Ojude Oba Commemorative Medallion Logo amid applause from guests and stakeholders.
Ojude Oba, one of Nigeria’s foremost cultural festivals, is held annually in honour of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland and attracts thousands of participants and tourists from around the world.
