Alhaji Abdulhameed Femi Omotayo, popularly known as OmoOwo, has pledged to deliver accessible leadership, inclusive representation, and meaningful development following his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
OmoOwo secured the party’s ticket at the PDP primary election held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Adeola Odutola Hall, Ijebu-Ode, signaling what supporters described as a renewed movement for people-oriented leadership across Ogun East.
Speaking shortly after his victory was announced, OmoOwo expressed gratitude to party leaders, delegates, supporters, and members of the PDP family, describing his emergence as a mandate for service, unity, and responsive leadership.
He said his candidacy represents the birth of a new people-driven movement rooted in equity, justice, peace, and sustainable progress across the Ogun East Senatorial District.
“This victory is not about one man; it is about the future of Ogun East,” he said. He added that “It is about giving every community a voice, ensuring that every citizen feels represented, and building a senatorial area where leadership remains accessible to all.”
The PDP Candidate OmoOwo, who is widely regarded for his accomplishments in business, enterprise development, and leadership within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, maintained that the people of Ogun East deserve more than ceremonial representation.
According to him, the Area requires practical and responsive leadership that listens to the people, engages communities directly, and delivers measurable results.
“I may not be able to solve every problem immediately, but the people will always have access to me,” he stated. “I will always listen, I will always respond, and I will always remain accessible.”
As part of his vision for modern and people-focused representation, OmoOwo unveiled plans to establish technologically enabled constituency offices across Ogun East. The initiative, he said, would ensure that residents across all local government areas can easily reach their senator, share concerns, and receive timely feedback.
The Ogun East Senatorial Area comprises nine local government areas and over 1,500 polling units spanning Ijebu, Remo, and Ogun Waterside communities.
OmoOwo also pledged to run a peaceful, issue-based, and inclusive campaign that would give equal attention and respect to every community within the senatorial area.
“This leadership will not be built on division or bitterness,” he declared. “It will be driven by unity, inclusion, development, and genuine service to the people.”
He further reaffirmed his commitment to youth inclusion, grassroots engagement, and increased democratic participation among first-time voters and young people across Ogun East.
With growing momentum across the Area, supporters say OmoOwo’s message is already resonating strongly with the people.
“The message is simple,” the supporters said. “OmoOwo is ready. The people are ready, and Ogun East is ready for progress.”
