“Jimoh Oshin Is Not the Moguniseja of Mobalufon,” Families Declare
The Iseja Ruling Families of Mobalufon, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria, have raised a strong alarm and issued a stern warning over what they describe as the unauthorized and fraudulent claim by Mr. Jimoh Oshin, who is falsely parading himself as the Moguniseja of Mobalufon.
The Ruling Houses—Ilumoka, Demuren, and Oludipe—jointly issued a public disclaimer and counterstatement to debunk and denounce Mr. Oshin’s assertion.
In an official press statement made available to BoldNEWS Africa, signed by Dr. A. B. Taiwo on behalf of the three ruling families, the group emphatically stated:
“Mr. Jimoh Oshin has never been, and is not, the Moguniseja of Mobalufon.”
According to the release, the title of Moguniseja is a sacred and revered traditional chieftaincy stool, strictly governed by ancestral protocols and rotational succession recognized under Ogun State chieftaincy law.
The statement further clarified that Mr. Oshin has not been nominated, selected, or approved through any legitimate or customary process recognized by the Iseja lineage.
“His self-declaration is not only fraudulent,” the families continued, “but constitutes a direct affront to our cultural heritage and a violation of the established chieftaincy customs.”
The statement warned that Mr. Oshin’s actions threaten the integrity of traditional authority and set a dangerous precedent for the distortion of indigenous leadership succession.
The ruling families called on the Ogun State Government, Odogbolu Local Government Authority, the Ijebu Traditional Council, media organizations, community stakeholders, and the general public to disregard and dissociate from Mr. Oshin’s claim in any capacity.
“Any attempt to recognize or engage with Mr. Oshin as the Moguniseja is unlawful, misleading, and a gross violation of the Iseja families’ established chieftaincy structure,” the statement emphasized.
Reaffirming their commitment to due process, the families reiterated their dedication to upholding the sanctity of their heritage and ensuring that any future succession follows lawful, and culturally sanctioned procedures.
“This is not only a matter of tradition,” the statement concluded, “but one of cultural preservation and legal order. Let no one be misled.”
